Pelvic Health & Pregnancy Care

Pelvic Health & Pregnancy Care

Your body goes through incredible changes during pregnancy, birth and beyond, and you don’t have to simply “put up with” discomfort.

Our pregnancy post partum and pelvic health appointments provide comprehensive assessment and treatment for women throughout pregnancy, the postpartum period and beyond. Every appointment is tailored to your individual concerns, goals and stage of life.

Pregnancy Care

Pregnancy places significant demands on your body, and while aches and pains are common, they are not something you simply have to tolerate.

We commonly help with:

  • Pregnancy-related pelvic girdle pain
  • Pubic symphysis pain (SPD)
  • Lower back and sacroiliac joint pain
  • Hip pain
  • Rib and postural discomfort
  • Neck and shoulder pain
  • Round ligament and stretching discomfort
  • Abdominal muscle separation (diastasis recti)
  • General movement and mobility throughout pregnancy

Treatment focuses on improving comfort, reducing pain and helping you continue enjoying your pregnancy with confidence.

Postpartum Care

Recovery after birth looks different for every woman. Whether you’ve had a vaginal birth or caesarean section, we support your recovery so you can return to caring for your baby and yourself with greater comfort.

Postpartum appointments may include treatment for:

  • Abdominal separation (diastasis recti)
  • Pelvic, hip and back pain
  • Neck, shoulder and upper back pain from feeding and carrying your baby
  • Breastfeeding and bottle-feeding posture
  • Caesarean scar assessment and scar therapy
  • Return to exercise guidance
  • General recovery following birth

Pelvic Health Assessment

Pelvic health appointments extend beyond pregnancy and postpartum care and are suitable for women experiencing pelvic floor concerns at any stage of life.

Depending on your symptoms and goals, your assessment may include a comprehensive external examination and, where clinically appropriate and with your informed consent, an internal pelvic floor assessment.

Internal examinations are never compulsory and are only performed when they are likely to provide valuable clinical information or guide treatment.

Pelvic health appointments can assist with:

  • Six-week postnatal pelvic floor assessments
  • Pelvic floor weakness or dysfunction
  • Pelvic organ prolapse
  • Bladder concerns, including urinary leakage or urgency
  • Bowel dysfunction
  • Pelvic pain
  • Pain with intercourse
  • Caesarean scar assessment and treatment
  • Return-to-running and return-to-exercise assessments

Our Approach

Every woman is different, which is why we take the time to understand your story. Your appointment may include education, hands-on osteopathic treatment, movement assessment, exercise prescription and practical advice to help you feel confident in your body again.

Whether you’re preparing for birth, recovering after having your baby, or seeking support for pelvic floor concerns, our goal is to provide evidence-informed, compassionate care in a comfortable and supportive environment.
