Welcome to the Osteopathic Clinic Altona’s Blog. Our aim of this blog is to keep you updated and informed on the clinic and its happenings. Along with up to date articles on a range of topics about the human body, Clinical Pilates, pain, movement, exercise, supplements this list goes on. We will also share with you interesting facts, regular updates and opinion pieces from our friendly clinicians and staff.
So for our first blog post we will give you an introduction to our clinic and our family.
As you probably already know we are a small family business. John, Rose, L-J and David the four owners of The Osteopathic Clinic all work in the clinic together and live locally in Altona. The story began when John had a midlife crisis and decided he didn’t want to do engineering anymore and wanted to go back and study osteopathy at 45 years of age. He studied hard while wife Rose took care of the family and worked hard to pay the bills. Not long after John started studying Osteopathy, daughter L-J followed suit and started at the same uni as her dad which made for many awkward encounters at uni social events (go home dad!). A few years later son David realised his passion for the human body also and began massage which soon evolved into Myotherapy, Pilates and Personal training.
In the middle of 2012 we decided it was time to start a family business after 6 months of hard work we opened our doors on January 14th 2013 to patients at 65 Millers Road, Altona. We have since grown to five Osteopaths, a Myotherapist, a Podiatrist and two reception staff. We are one big happy family at The Osteopathic Clinic and we pride our self on delivering the best care for our patients, we treat our patients as if they were our family also.
Head over to our staff pages and have a better look at who we have as part of our team and some fun facts about them.
Hope to see you in the clinic sometime soon.
Lots of Love,
The Osteopathic Clinic family
